A Bangladeshi orphan is up against overwhelming odds. Tragically, two thirds of children in Bangladesh don’t get enough to eat. For countless boys and girls, every day is about survival. Education is a distant luxury. There is little hope for a better life.

When Abdullah’s father unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack, his mother worked endless hours doing everything she could to care for her kids.

Sadly, they often couldn’t even afford to eat and depended on the generosity of others for meals.
“The hardest thing before coming to the FKSI orphanage was not having enough to eat and having to stop going to school,” Abdullah recalls.

Two years ago, Abdullah’s mother brought him to the Ibrahimpur Orphanage in hopes her son would finally have the food he needed and be able to go back to school.
Today, Abdullah’s life is unrecognizable. “I don't have to worry about food, shelter or clothes.
I have made so many friends, and we study and play together. I'm very happy here,” Abdullah shares with a smile.
