Superhero 5K
The For Kids' Sake Superhero 5K in Carbondale, IL is our largest annual fundraiser. Superheroes save lives, which is exactly what you do when you participate in this race. All proceeds benefit orphans and students in Bangladesh. Some participants become true Superheroes, by fundraising for the kids.
2022 Superhero 5K - $47,000 Raised!
Superheroes streamed through Turley Park in Carbondale on Saturday, October 8, for the 12th Annual For Kids’ Sake Superhero 5K. This annual fundraiser brings people together from all over Southern Illinois for a healthy, fun, family-friendly event.
269 registrants signed up to complete the race either virtually or in-person this year. Their registrations, 43 business sponsors, and individual fundraisers all helped raise $47,000 for orphans and students in Bangladesh.

2021 Superhero 5K Success
$45,000 Raised for the Kids!
The 11th Annual For Kids’ Sake Superhero 5K culminated in a celebratory race on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 9am.
265 registrants signed up to complete the race either virtually or in-person this year. Their registrations, 45 business sponsors and 40 individual fundraisers all helped raise $45,000 for kids in Bangladesh!
2020 Superhero 5K: Virtual Edition
The For Kids' Sake Superhero 5K in Carbondale, IL is our largest annual fundraiser. For 2020, we went virtual! Instead of gathering at the starting line on one date, registrants ran their 5K between Sept. 26 - Oct. 4, 2020. These superheroes helped raise over $50,000 for the kids in Bangladesh!
